The Toyota Hilux and Prado that share the 1KDFTV Engine are plagued with common issues of OEM IHI Turbo Chargers failing with Higher than stock EGT's and Backpressure. This is due to a design flaw in the OEM IHI Turbo Chargers.
Garrett have redesigned the original IHI turbo, with updated internals and wheels. It is much more robust for both stock and lightly tuned 1KD Hilux and Prado's
